Embossing combines heat, pressure and a metal die to reshape and mold the paper. Most any image can be embossed (raised) or debossed (lowered) into the surface of the paper which adds interest and uniqueness to a design. The die can be single level, multi level, or even hand sculpted to simulate the textural qualities of any surface. It is very important to convey your design with clear instructions by drawing side views and using samples that closely resemble your solution. The possibilities are endless considering that you can combine your impression with foils and/ or conventional printing. Ask for recommendations and be prepared to answer questions to ensure complete understanding. Consider carefully the choice of paper because some may not stand up to the stress of embossing. The most interesting effects can be achieved on heavy textured, thick weight and darker color paper. Be sure to visit our portfolio page to see some examples of our embossing.
